Now I’m starting to see why Joell would want out from Aftermath with these 3 dudes all lined up to drop this year. Although I hope Mr. Ortiz at least managed to get a feature on one of these 3 albums to get his name out. Anyways you already heard em spit the refence track but we got the CDQ as well as the new 50 produced by Dre.

Nas needs to watch this right now. It seems as if Preem is down for the Nas x Premo album that everyone has been waiting wishing for. As for the track that Preem gave to Jay; if Jay had vocals laid on it and just never used it for AG, I NEED IT RIGHT NOW. Shout out to the Premier Blog.
Skillz goes in and “raps up” all 5 seasons of HBO’s The Wire I stopped listening after he started the 3rd season, You could say I’m a little (see: alot) behind but at least I can’t get any further behind now that its over right?

Joell Renegades once again… shit just isn’t fair. Off of D.O.E’s Timbaland Presents D.O.E. - The Fall of John Doe, The Rise of D.O.E. mixtape. Sidebar: When I first saw this up for download way back in September of last year, I thought it was gonna use that Rockwell sample.. HAHA
Go grab that mixtape @ ItsDoe.com
Like the title says B.O.B and Toomp go into the studio, sounds like the making of some dope shit. Looks like their using Reason too.
New video from the Rhode Island Hero, Theo, off of his mixtape The Birth that he dropped on OKP (also here) last year sometime in August (it feels funny saying last year..)

Add hip-hop to a rock-esque type track and you already know I’m sold. Inglewood’s Shawn Chrystopher adds his flavour to The UK’s The Ting Tings single, Thats Not My Name.

Gunna! New video from Young Chris, not much else to say on this *moves on with life..

Mr. Watts shot over this dope track that is in character as some kind of 007/Superhero (hmm underground is on their superhero ish in ‘09) As he put it:
“A Better Tomorrow”, this self-produced song tells the story of a superhero/secret agent type who’s out to rid the world of all evildoing and malice. However, the track only explains the early part of his day, and the beginning of his mission, as I may choose to elaborate further on his adventures in the near future.
Its definitely a interesting concept and stay locked on the same bat channel if he does decide to reprise this role

Mickey does his thing over Kanye’s “Say You Will”. Don’t get me wrong, he comes oh so correct, but Drake set the bar waaaaay too high for others to even touch it.
Download: Thinking Out Loud - Mickey Factz

This is on some different ish, but I’m feeling it. Theo always delivers. Be on the look out for the video for Theo’s “Dillagence” dropping @ onSMASH tommorrow.

When you’re one of the greatest emcees of the modern generation readying your bow from hip-hop with three albums, what do you do meanwhile? In Lupe Fiasco’s case, you simply watch a film, get invigorated, start a band, begin making not so bad post-indie punk music in a faux British accent, think of a peculiar band name (cue “Japanese Cartoon”), create a MySpace page, & upload the music. Then act like it isn’t you but rather Percival Fats. Cool.
There isn’t much more I could tell you that smokeYYY didn’t already sum up, plus shout outs have to go to dude for sending these through. Also the bonus cut is courtesy of the good folks of 2dope.

Posse cuts left and right! I really ain’t mad at it. The Kid Daytona, Outasight, Harlem’s Cash and 6th get in over some dope production that 6th did himself. 2-0-0-9 is starting off strong, I’m calling it now, its the year of the unsigned. Shouts have to go to 2dope, whom I straight jacked the picture from.

We’re a little behind schedule around here so I’ll keep this short. Minty Fresh Beats decided to blend Jay-Z with Radiohead (which I’m both big fans of) thus we have Jaydiohead.. Enjoy.

This is the First Manic Monday of 09 and it’s especially manic up here since its back to school for the University and High Schools etc. So as per usual I’ll let K. Sparks tell it:
“It’s a new year and a new grind…I accomplished what I wanted for 2008 and now in 2009 I have new goals that I will surpass…This weeks song is about trying to find purpose in life from everything such as music to dealing with every day struggles…I’ve been recording non stop and have a lot of dope records coming for ya’ll…Thank you to every blog, DJ, Magazine, Website, and fan that supports Manic Mondays…let’s get it!”
